Our History
ProsperityME was founded in 2008 by an immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who saw the potential for economic success in his community. What began as a financial literacy class in a church basement has grown into a leading immigrant organization in Maine serving over 10,000 newcomers. For 16 years we have provided financial education and counseling, workforce development programs, housing support services, and higher educational opportunities to help immigrants thrive in our communities.
