Peer Workforce Navigator
Our Peer Workforce Navigator assists people with accessing benefits, training programs, and their job search. We host a weekly job clinic to help immigrants apply for jobs with the support of translators and peer counselors. The Peer Workforce Navigator project is a coalition of community-based organizations in partnership with the Maine Department of Labor. This initiative connects new immigrants to jobs, education and training, unemployment insurance, and more.
Women’s Economic Empowerment
Immigrant women are one of the most economically marginalized groups in Maine. To help underrepresented women achieve economic and professional success, ProsperityME and In Her Presence have partnered to create the “Chart Your Course” initiative – a program that provides BIPOC women with pathways to success.
Individual Development Accounts
The Individual Development Accounts (IDA) matched savings program gives immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers a chance to receive one dollar for every dollar they save towards a productive asset up to $5,000. This program helps newcomers at or below 100% of the area median income pursue education, small business start-up, or business expansion with new technology.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old
- Live in Maine
- First Generation Immigrant and identify as a member of the BIPOC community
- Income at or below 100% Area Median Income
- Complete our Basic Money Management course
