Our housing programs are designed to address both immediate crises and long-term stability through financial education and advocacy, we help families build and sustain long-term housing stability.
Housing Stability Support Program (HSSP)
Eligible households in Maine can now receive up to $3,000 yearly to support rental payments, past due rental amount and/or security deposits.
Eligibility criteria:
- Total household income must be below 30% of AMI. How to Determine AMI
- The rental payment must fall within the Housing Choice Voucher Payment Standard (VPS) for the unit size.

Assistance available : $3,000 per household per year for:
* Security deposit that is required for a new lease or rental agreement
* Rentals arrears owed to the household’s current landlord
* Up to 10 months of rental assistance paid directly to the landlord in an amount not to exceed $300 per month

Housing Development Initiative
The root cause of the housing crisis in Maine is the lack of supply of affordable housing. We are addressing this issue by launching a housing development initiative.
